Compatibility & Technology Details

Does this work on older smart TVs without App Stores?
Yes. As long as your TV browser supports HTML5 Canvas and basic WebGL2 (standard on almost all LG webOS, Samsung Tizen, Android/Google TV, and Apple TV Safari environments since 2017), imagepie will boot up seamlessly without installing any application.
Will leaving photos on an OLED TV cause screen burn-in?
imagepie has an active anti-burn-in subpixel drift system built into its render pipeline. Images continually undergo ultra-subtle, imperceptible 0.05% position shifts, and spreads automatically transition or crossfade on configurable timers to guarantee zero static pixel fatigue on modern OLED/Mini-LED panels.
How does phone-to-TV pairing work without signing in?
When you open imagepie on the TV, it generates an ephemeral peer handshake encoded in a simple QR code. Scanning it with your phone connects both devices over a direct WebRTC DataChannel over your local Wi-Fi network. Your photos transfer straight from mobile device memory to TV memory without hitting any cloud database.
Can it play offline if my home Wi-Fi disconnects?
Yes. Once photos are transmitted to the screen or chosen from a local directory, all photographic spreads and playback transitions are loaded into memory and browser storage (OPFS / IndexedDB). The screen will continue playing without interruption even during complete internet dropouts.
